About Dr. Willie J. Young

The Rev. Dr. Willie J. Young is a native of Georgetown, South Carolina, the second oldest of eleven siblings born to loving parents. He is the son of the late Olin Young and Mrs. Pauline Young. He grew up and received his formal education and graduated from Harvard High School in Georgetown, South Carolina.

Following graduation, Rev. Young was inducted in the United States Army where he served in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1957. Young moved to Connecticut where he met and marry the former Ms. Judy B. Hugee, of Pamlico, South Carolina. Unto the union five sons were born. The youngs have three granddaughters and one grandson. Rev. Young and Mrs. Judy Young had been married for 57 years up to Mrs. Youngs’ passing in March of 2017.

Rev. Young joined the Zion Baptist Church, Middletown, Ct in 1958 where he served as Deacon, Church Secretary, Youth Leader, and many other capacities for 22 years.

Rev. Young became a licenced Preacher in June of 1981 and was ordained in July of 1953. Young served as an Assistant Pastor at St. James Baptist Church, Norwalk, Ct for two years. He became the pastor of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church March 9, 1989 and is still currently serving in this capacity.

Degrees:
Rev. Young has a Bachelors of Theology, Masters in Religious Education, and a Doctorate in Sacred Theology.

Rev. Young is a Christian hearted man and has a great love for the people of God. He has give most of his life to working with children.
